There are several reasons why video game systems – also known as consoles - have become as popular as they have. They are generally easy to use, don’t require a lot of technical expertise to set up and all the major systems offer games that can be played by more than one person. All three offer ‘remote’ gaming which eliminates the need for wires and cables running to and from your TV. And of course, your TV screen is usually larger and offers better sound quality than your computer screen – many people take advantage of stereo or surround sound when playing games. There is no big difference in quality or cost of games between the big three manufacturers and a look in the electronics section of any store will reveal a huge variety of games of all types.
